FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TMS) part 4

 1.1.1     Wiring strategies

5.12.2.1 cable Specification

The incoming power cables and therefore the interconnecting cables between instrumentation within the SIB and metal shall suits the National electrical Code (NFPA 70).  The cables shall be rated 600V, shall have a minimum temperature rating of 90°C dry/75°C wet, and shall change to UL Standards in line with the actual sort (e.g. UL 1277, together with its vertical receptacle flame take a look at, for sort TC cables, UL eighty three for THHN/THWN and UL forty four for XHHW).  For wiring the lighting that need higher temperature wires and cables, the higher than minimum temperature ratings shall be exaggerated consequently.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR  TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TMS) part 4

Power and management conductors shall be stranded copper.  Stranding shall be ASTM B8 category B or C.

Conductor sizes shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).

 5.12.2.2 Wire code

Power wiring shall be color coded as follows:

AC Supply:

Phase                    Black;

Neutral             White;

Ground inexperienced or inexperienced with yellow traces

DC Supply:

Positive                Red or red sleeve over any color except green;

Negative                Black or black sleeve over any color except inexperienced

5.12.2.3 Circuit Segregation

Minimum separation distances between parallel runs of various signal varieties shall suits IEEE 518.

5.12.2.4 Raceways and Supports

Power and management cables shall be set in cable trays, metal wire trough or conduits fixed to the building walls or ceiling.  Electrical golden tube (EMT) is suitable to be used for the lighting circuits.  Channel erector system elements (Unistrut or equivalent) wont to support conduits, cable trays, lighting and different electrical instrumentation shall be manufactured from hot-dipped galvanized steel.

Cable trays shall be copper-free metal, ladder sort.

5.12.2.5 Connections and Termination

Compression (crimped) sort connectors shall be used for terminating stranded power or management conductors. the employment of solder lugs is prohibited.  Compression connectors for a hundred and twenty mm2 and bigger conductors shall be two-hole NEMA style.  All compression instrumentalitys for ten mm2 and bigger conductors shall have a manufacturer's compression die variety and conductor size written or sealed on the connector.  All compression connectors shall be preserved copper.  Spring pressure sort twist-on connectors, pressure set screw connectors with insulating caps ar allowed for lighting and receptacle circuits.

5.12.2.6 Building Cable Entries

The TMS vender shall offer appropriate secretory organ plates sized and settled to accommodate all incoming and outgoing instrument and cable entry through the building walls.  The secretory organ plates are trained and therefore the cables glanded at website.  Adequate house among the buildings shall be provided to permit for cable actuation.  The approximate most cable bend radius are zero.5m.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR  TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TMS) part 4

5.12.2.7  External Cable receptacle

Cabling to the SIB and PB's can typically be run underground and sealed at a stub-up (by others).  The cables are run (by others) into the SIB and PB's via external wall mounted cable receptacle.

The TMS vender shall offer and mount the outwardly mounted cable receptacle, that shall be sized and settled by the TMS vender to accommodate all incoming and outgoing instrument and power cables.

1.1.2      Grounding

Grounding of apparatus shall be in accordance with the grounding specifications of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Article 250. management cupboard grounding shall suits the fabric specifications of 34-SAMSS-820.

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR  TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TMS) part 4

5.12.3.1 Safety Ground

All exposed non-current-carrying golden elements that might become energised with risky potentials should be dependably connected to the instrumentation grounding circuits.  All metal instrumentation and enclosures among a panel or series of panels (i.e. instrument cases, hinged doors, racks, etc.) shall be secured with bonding jumpers and connected to a security ground bus with copper wire with four mm2 cross-sectional space. the security ground bus shall connect with the security ground grid with twenty five mm2 copper wire as a minimum, in an exceedingly closed-loop system configuration.  Safety ground connections should be created such once a case-grounded instrument is removed, the integrity of the remainder of the security ground system is maintained.

5.12.3.2 Circuit Ground

An instrument circuit ground bus shall be provided for consolidating instrument signal commons and cable defend drain wires.  This ground bus shall be isolated from the security ground system and different golden elements.

Each instrument signal common shall be connected to the isolated instrument ground bus with copper wire sized to hold the expected fault current or one.5 mm2 , whichever is larger. 2 ground lugs for twenty five mm2 cables shall be put in within the ground bus for association to the plant ground grid.

The TMS VENDOR's counseled grounding theme for the provided instrumentation shall be submitted for HVACMEP.SITE's approval.

1.2          Fire Detection

The SIB and metal shall every be furnished with 2 ionisation sort smoke detectors.  The detectors shall be settled strategically at the ceiling of the building and put in in accordance with the wants of NFPA seventy two.  Detectors shall be terminated at a junction box mounted on the within wall.  The detectors shall use voltage and RF transient suppression techniques to attenuate false feat.

1.3          Inspection and Testing

All TMS instrumentation settled during this building shall be subject to testing as per the Technical Specification Terminal Management System.

The building and instrumentation shall be inspected by HVACMEP.SITE in line with the examination demand Sheets (see APPENDIX B).

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION FOR  TERMINAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (TMS) part 4

1.4          Shipment

Prior to cargo, all original shipping stops, bolts, ties, etc., shall be reinstalled altogether such affected devices.  The TMS vender shall install further protection PRN to forestall harm throughout shipping.  All external devices (i.e. lights) shall be removed for cargo. appropriate weather tight cowl shall be provided and put in on all openings exposed by instrumentation removal.

Lifting lugs shall be provided within the construction of the SIB and metal.

All openings shall be lined to forestall entrance of contaminants throughout transit.

The TMS vender shall prepare all instrumentation for cargo in accordance with the manufacturer's directions.

The TMS vender shall show clearly on his drawings any re-assembly needed once shipping.
